Modeling

Objectives:

  1. To model the impact of climate change on carbon fluxes in tundra ecosystems using a process-based ecosystem model.
  2. To model the effect of climate change on the spatial distribution of vegetation.

Papers

  • Estimating carbon release caused by land use changes over Canada’s north during 1985–1990 and 1990–2000 using satellite Earth observation.
  • Relating biomass and leaf area index to non-destructive measurements for monitoring changes in arctic vegetation
  • Digital Photograph Analysis for Measuring Percent Plant Cover in the Arctic
  • Clustering synthetic aperture radar (SAR) imagery using an automatic approach
  • Optimum RADARSAT-1 configurations for wetlands discrimination: a case study of the Mer Bleue peat bog
  • Disequilibrium response of permafrost thaw to climate warming in Canada over 1850–2100
  • Transient projections of permafrost distribution in Canada during the 21st century under scenarios of climate change
